What this part is
The display on the Fire HD 8 (2020) connects to the main board through a thin LCD flex cable. If that cable is torn during a repair, creased, or damaged by liquid, the screen can go blank, flicker or show lines, even though the LCD itself is fine.
This part replaces that cable only. It is worth fitting when the screen is not cracked and the fault changes when the tablet is pressed or flexed. If the LCD is cracked or leaking, the screen itself needs replacing.

How to check your model
Open Settings › Device Options › Device Model. It should show Fire HD 8 (10th Generation).
The 2020 Fire HD 8 has a USB-C charging port. Older Fire HD 8 tablets use micro-USB.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) off completely.
- Release the back cover clips with a plastic opening tool, working slowly around the edge.
- Disconnect the battery before touching any other part.
- Release the connector shield and unplug the old LCD flex from the display and the main board.
- Fit the new flex, press each end firmly into its connector and refit the shield.
- Refit any shields, screws and the back cover.
- Reconnect the battery, power on and check the picture for lines, flicker and brightness.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
