Overview
What this part is
A worn charging port is one of the most common faults on older Kindle Fire tablets. On the 2013 Kindle Fire HD 7 the micro-USB port is fitted to a flex cable, so the fix is a plug-in swap rather than soldering to the main board.
If the tablet still will not charge with a new flex and a known good charger, the battery may be worn out. A tablet that has sat flat for months may need an hour on charge before it shows any sign of life.

Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the Kindle Fire HD 7 (2013) off completely.
- Release the back cover clips with a plastic opening tool, working slowly around the edge.
- Disconnect the battery before touching any other part.
- Disconnect the old flex from the main board and remove it.
- Seat the new flex in place and press its connector home.
- Refit any shields, screws and the back cover.
- Reconnect the battery, power on and leave the tablet charging to confirm the fix.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Will this fit my Kindle Fire HD 7?
Yes, if it is the 2013 model. The device model should show Kindle Fire HD (3rd Generation).
Does it fit the Fire 7?
No. The Fire 7 tablets use a different charging part.
Will it fix a tablet that will not turn on?
Only if the cause is a charging port that no longer passes power. Try a known good cable and charger first; a dead battery is also common on older tablets.
Is it made by Amazon?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality charging port flex made to fit the Kindle Fire HD 7 (2013), and every part is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. The Kindle Fire HD 7 (2013) back cover is held by fragile clips, and the battery must be disconnected before any internal part is changed.
How quickly will it arrive?
Orders placed before 4pm on a working day are dispatched the same day from Manchester by Royal Mail Tracked. Delivery is free on UK orders over £5. You can also collect from our shop at 33 Moulton Street, Manchester M8 8FQ.
