What this part is
The iPad 3 and iPad 4 use the same 9.7-inch Retina LCD, separate from the front glass. If touch works but the picture has lines, dark areas or no image at all, the LCD is the part to replace.
This panel is the LCD only. The existing front glass is lifted and refitted over it. The iPad 2 uses a lower-resolution panel, and the iPad Air uses a different LCD, so neither fits.

Is this the right part?
Signs it needs replacing
- The screen is black while the iPad still plays sound

How to check your model
Turn the iPad over and read the small print on the back, or open Settings › General › About. It should show A1403, A1416, A1458 or A1459.
The iPad 3 has a 30-pin dock connector and the iPad 4 has Lightning. Both are 9.7 inches.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the iPad off and warm the edges of the front glass.
- Lift the glass slowly and set it aside, keeping its cable safe.
- Unscrew the old LCD and disconnect its cable.
- Connect the new LCD and test it before closing.
- Screw the LCD in place and clean the frame of old adhesive.
- Refit the glass with new adhesive and run a final check.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.

Will this fit my iPad 3 or iPad 4?
Yes. One panel fits both. Check the back of your iPad shows A1403, A1416, A1458 or A1459.
Does it fit the iPad 2?
No. The iPad 2 uses a lower-resolution LCD. We list that panel separately.
Why is my new screen tinted or spotted after fitting?
Dust or finger marks trapped between the LCD and glass show up as spots. Clean both surfaces well before closing.
Is it made by Apple?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality Retina LCD panel made to fit the iPad 3 and iPad 4, and it is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. The front glass is glued in and cracks easily when lifted.
