Overview
What this part is
On the iPad mini 5 the top power button and the volume buttons share one flex cable. When the flex tears, wears out or is damaged by liquid, the buttons stop working even though the outer caps look fine.
This part replaces that flex. The iPad mini 5 screen is fully laminated and thin, so it must be opened with care.

Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the iPad mini 5 off and warm the screen edges to soften the adhesive.
- Lift the screen slowly with thin opening picks, avoiding the display cables, and disconnect the battery first.
- Remove the brackets over the button flex and lift the old flex carefully off its adhesive.
- Fit the new flex, line up each switch with its button and seat the connector.
- Reconnect the battery and screen and test the repair before sealing.
- Apply new adhesive, close the iPad and press evenly while it cures.
- Test the power button and both volume buttons.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Will this fit my iPad mini 5?
Yes, if Settings › General › About shows iPad mini (5th generation), models A2124, A2126 or A2133.
Does it fit the iPad mini 4?
No. The iPad mini 4 uses a different button flex. Choose the iPad mini 4 listing.
Does it include the outer button caps?
No. It is the flex cable with the switches. The outer button caps are separate parts.
Is it made by Apple?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality power and volume button flex cable made to fit the iPad mini 5, and every part is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. The iPad mini 5 screen is glued in place and cracks easily during opening, so heat, thin opening picks and new adhesive are needed.
How quickly will it arrive?
