What this part is
The iPhone 12 Pro front camera sits in the notch at the top of the screen, beside the Face ID parts. If it is damaged by a drop or liquid, selfie mode can show a black screen, a blurred picture or strange colours, and FaceTime video may not work.
This part replaces the front camera module only. Face ID uses separate sensors, so this part does not repair Face ID faults. After fitting, iOS may show a notice in Settings › General › About that the camera cannot be verified. This is normal with a non-Apple part.

How to check your model
Open Settings › General › About. The model name should read iPhone 12 Pro. Tap the model number to see the A-number (for example A2341).
The iPhone 12 Pro has a 6.1-inch screen, three rear cameras and a LiDAR scanner. The iPhone 12 has only two rear cameras, and the 12 Pro Max has a larger 6.7-inch screen.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the iPhone 12 Pro off, remove the two pentalobe screws next to the charging port and warm the screen edges to soften the adhesive.
- Open the display carefully and disconnect the battery before anything else.
- Remove the screen, then take off the bracket over the front camera.
- Lift out the old front camera and fit the new one without touching the lens.
- Reconnect the front camera and refit the bracket.
- Reconnect the display and battery, then test the repair before sealing.
- Seal the phone, then test selfies, video and FaceTime.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.

No. The iPhone 12 uses a different front camera. This part is made only for the iPhone 12 Pro.
Will Face ID still work?
This part does not change the Face ID sensors. If Face ID worked before the repair and the Face ID parts are not disturbed, it should keep working. A trained technician should handle those parts carefully.
