Overview
What this part is
On the iPhone 12 Pro Max, the rear LED flash and the microphone next to it sits on a thin flex cable next to the rear cameras. A drop, liquid damage or a torn cable during a repair can stop the torch working, leave the camera flash dead or make you sound muffled on video recordings and speaker calls.
This part replaces that flex as one unit, so both the flash and the rear microphone are renewed. The iPhone 12 Pro Max has three rear cameras and a LiDAR scanner, and this flex is shaped to fit around them. It does not repair the cameras themselves.

Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the iPhone 12 Pro Max off, remove the two pentalobe screws next to the charging port and warm the screen edges to soften the adhesive.
- Open the display carefully and disconnect the battery before anything else.
- Remove the bracket above the rear cameras and lift out the old flash flex.
- Fit the new flex in the same position and reconnect it.
- Reconnect the display and battery, then test the repair before sealing.
- Apply new adhesive, close the phone and press evenly while it cures.
- Test the torch, the camera flash and a voice memo or video recording.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
