What this part is
The earpiece speaker sits at the top of the iPhone SE 2020, behind the slot above the screen. It is the speaker you hold to your ear during normal calls. If it is damaged, callers can sound quiet, muffled or crackly, or you hear nothing at all unless you switch to speaker.
This is a replacement earpiece speaker. Before ordering, clean the earpiece mesh gently, because dust in the grille often makes calls sound quiet. If speakerphone is also silent, the fault may be elsewhere.

How to check your model
Open Settings › General › About. The model name should read iPhone SE (2nd generation). Tap the model number to see the A-number (for example A2275).
The iPhone SE 2020 (2nd generation) has a 4.7-inch screen and a Home button. In About it shows as iPhone SE (2nd generation), not iPhone SE (3rd generation).
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the iPhone SE 2020 off, remove the two pentalobe screws next to the charging port, then warm the screen edges to soften the adhesive.
- Open the display carefully and disconnect the battery before anything else.
- Remove the screen, then take off the small bracket over the earpiece on the back of the display.
- Move the front camera and sensor flex aside carefully, remove the old earpiece and fit the new one.
- Refit the bracket, reconnect the screen and battery, and make a test call before sealing.
- Apply new adhesive, close the phone and press evenly while it cures.
- Check the Home button, front camera and call audio all work.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.

No. Ringtones and music come from the bottom loudspeaker. This earpiece is for sound during normal calls.

Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. Opening an iPhone SE 2020 needs heat, pentalobe and tri-point screwdrivers and new adhesive, and the battery must be disconnected safely.
