Overview
What this part is
The iPhone X front camera module holds the 7MP selfie camera together with the infrared camera used by the TrueDepth system. If the selfie camera shows a black screen, blurry pictures, spots or lines, the module may need replacing.
This part replaces the front camera and infrared camera together. Face ID parts are paired to each phone's main board, so Face ID is likely not to work after the infrared camera is replaced. The selfie camera itself should work normally. Please keep this in mind before ordering.

Signs it needs replacing
- The selfie camera shows a black screen
- Selfies are blurry or out of focus

- The Camera app freezes when switching to the front camera
How to check your model
Open Settings › General › About. The model name should read iPhone X. Tap the model number to see the A-number (for example A1865).
The iPhone X has a 5.8-inch screen and Face ID. The iPhone XS looks almost the same, so check the model number carefully.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the iPhone X off, remove the two pentalobe screws next to the charging port, then warm the screen edges to soften the adhesive.
- Open the display carefully and disconnect the battery before anything else.
- Remove the screen, then take off the bracket that covers the front sensor assembly.
- Disconnect the old front camera module, fit the new one and press the connector firmly home.
- Reconnect the battery and display, then test the selfie camera in photo and video before sealing.
- Apply new adhesive, close the phone and press evenly while it cures.
- Check the earpiece, proximity sensor and selfie camera all work.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Will this fit my iPhone X?
Yes, if Settings › General › About shows iPhone X. It fits models A1865, A1901, A1902. It does not fit the iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max.
Does it fit the iPhone XS?
No. The iPhone XS uses a different front camera with infrared camera. This part is listed only for the iPhone X.
Will Face ID work after fitting this?
It is likely not to. Face ID parts, including the infrared camera, are paired to each iPhone's main board. This part restores the selfie camera, not Face ID.
Is it made by Apple?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality front camera with infrared camera made to fit the iPhone X, and every part is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. Opening an iPhone X needs heat, pentalobe and tri-point screwdrivers and new adhesive, and the battery must be disconnected safely.
How quickly will it arrive?
