What this part is
The Google Pixel 7 uses an optical fingerprint sensor that sits under the screen and reads through the display. The sensor is mounted on a small flex cable inside the phone. Liquid damage, a drop or a careless screen repair can damage it, and the phone then reports a fingerprint hardware problem or stops reading fingers.
This is a replacement fingerprint sensor flex cable for the Pixel 7. It works with a working OLED display; an unsuitable replacement screen can stop any sensor from reading. Face Unlock (where fitted) and your PIN are not affected by this part.

How to check your model
Open Settings › About phone. The device name should read Pixel 7, not Pixel 7 Pro or Pixel 7a. The model code (GVU6C, GQML3, GO3Z5) is shown in Settings › About phone › Regulatory labels and on the box.
The Pixel 7 has a 6.3-inch flat screen and two rear cameras in a metal camera bar. The Pixel 7 Pro is larger, with a curved screen and three rear cameras.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the Pixel 7 off and remove the SIM tray.
- Warm the screen edges and open the display carefully, keeping the display cable safe.
- Disconnect the battery before anything else.
- Unplug and remove the old fingerprint sensor, taking care not to touch the sensor window.
- Fit the new sensor in the same position and reconnect its flex.
- Reseal the phone, then enrol your fingerprints again and test the sensor.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.

Frequently asked questions
Will this fit my Pixel 7?
Yes, if Settings › About phone shows Pixel 7. It fits models GVU6C, GQML3, GO3Z5. It does not fit the Pixel 7 Pro or Pixel 7a.
Does it fit the Pixel 7 Pro?
No. The Pixel 7 Pro is a different phone with a different part. This fingerprint sensor flex cable is made for the Pixel 7 only.
Will I need to set up my fingerprints again?
Yes. After a new sensor is fitted you need to add your fingerprints again in Settings › Security. On the Pixel 7 the sensor may also need calibrating with Google's Pixel repair tools before it reads reliably.
Is it made by Google?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality fingerprint sensor flex cable made to fit the Google Pixel 7, and every part is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. Opening the Pixel 7 needs heat, thin picks and new screen adhesive, and the battery must be disconnected safely before any part is changed.
