What this part is
The USB-C charging port on the Google Pixel 8 wears with daily use. Pocket lint, bent pins and drops can make the cable loose, charging slow or intermittent, or stop the phone from being seen by a computer.
This is a replacement USB-C charging port connector for the Pixel 8. It is the socket itself, supplied on its own, and has to be soldered in. Before ordering, clean the port gently with a wooden or plastic pick and try a known good cable, as lint is a very common cause of charging faults.

How to check your model
Open Settings › About phone. The device name should read Pixel 8, not Pixel 8 Pro or Pixel 8a. The model code (GKWS6, GPJ41, G9BQD) is shown in Settings › About phone › Regulatory labels and on the box.
The Pixel 8 has a 6.2-inch screen and two rear cameras. The Pixel 8 Pro is larger and has three rear cameras.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the Pixel 8 off and remove the SIM tray.
- Warm the screen edges and open the display carefully with a thin pick.
- Disconnect the battery before anything else.
- Remove the parts needed to reach the USB-C port and desolder the old connector.
- Solder the new connector in place and check every joint under magnification.
- Reassemble, reconnect the battery and test wired charging and USB data.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.

Will this fit my Pixel 8?
Yes, if Settings › About phone shows Pixel 8. It fits models GKWS6, GPJ41, G9BQD. It does not fit the Pixel 8 Pro or Pixel 8a.
Does it fit the Pixel 8 Pro?
No. The Pixel 8 Pro is a different phone with a different part. This USB-C charging port connector is made for the Pixel 8 only.
Does this need soldering?
Yes. This is the bare USB-C connector, not a complete board. The old connector must be removed and the new one soldered in place, so it should be fitted by a technician with micro-soldering equipment.
Is it made by Google?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality USB-C charging port connector made to fit the Google Pixel 8, and every part is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
No. This connector must be soldered, so we recommend professional installation by a technician with micro-soldering equipment. The Pixel 8 also needs heat and new adhesive to open and close.
