The power and volume buttons on the Huawei P Smart 2019 press against small switches on a thin flex cable inside the frame. A drop, water or wear can break a switch or tear the cable, and a button stops responding.
This flex carries both the power and volume switches. If the plastic button caps are damaged, they may need replacing as well; they are not part of this flex.

How to check your model
Open Settings › About phone. The device name should read P Smart 2019. The model number should be POT-LX1.
The P Smart 2019 and P Smart 2020 look very alike. Check the model number: the 2019 version is POT-LX1, the 2020 version is POT-LX1A.

How a technician fits this part
- Power the Huawei P Smart 2019 off and remove the SIM tray.
- Open the phone with gentle heat and plastic opening tools.
- Remove the screws and inner cover, then disconnect the battery before touching any other part.
- Unplug and peel away the old button flex from the frame.
- Fit the new flex so each switch lines up with its button, then reconnect it.
- Reconnect the battery and test power and volume buttons before closing the phone.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
