What this part is
The card tray on the Huawei P40 Lite 5G slides into the side of the phone and holds a nano-SIM card and a Huawei NM (Nano Memory) card. Trays get lost when switching SIM cards, or bend when pushed in the wrong way, and a damaged tray can stop the phone reading the SIM.
A new tray also keeps dust and moisture out of the slot. It fits without opening the phone. If the phone still shows no SIM with a new tray and a working SIM card, the reader inside may be damaged.

Open Settings › About phone. The model should read P40 Lite 5G and the model number should be CDY-NX9A.
The P40 Lite 5G model number starts CDY-. The 4G P40 Lite starts JNY- and the P40 Lite E starts ART-.

How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off.
- Push the eject tool into the small hole beside the tray and pull the old tray out.
- Place your nano-SIM (and card, if used) into the new tray, gold contacts down.
- Slide the tray in the right way up until it sits flush with the frame.
- Power on and check the phone reads the SIM and shows signal.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.

Does it fit the Huawei P40 Lite?
No. The 4G P40 Lite (JNY-LX1) is a different phone with its own parts, even though the names are similar. Order the part listed for your exact model.
Do I need to open the phone?
No. The tray slides out of the side with a SIM eject tool. No heat, screws or tools beyond the eject pin are needed.
