What this part is
The power and volume buttons on the Huawei Y9 2019 press on small switches mounted on a thin flex cable inside the side of the phone. After drops, bending or liquid damage, these switches stop working or stick, and the phone may turn off, restart or change volume by itself.
This flex cable carries the power and volume switches together, so one part fixes all three buttons. The plastic or metal button caps on the outside of the frame are separate and are not normally included. If the buttons still fail with a new flex fitted, the fault may be on the main board.

The Y9 Prime 2019 (STK models) is a different phone.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the Huawei Y9 2019 off and remove the SIM tray.
- Remove the back cover with a plastic opening tool, then remove the screws holding the inner cover.
- Disconnect the battery connector before touching any other part.
- Unplug the button flex from the main board and peel it gently away from the side of the frame.
- Line the new flex up with the button caps, press it into place and reconnect it to the board.
- Refit the inner cover and back cover, reconnect power and test all three buttons.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
