What this part is
The iPad 2 has a separate LCD and front glass. If the glass is intact and touch works, but the picture has lines, dark areas, ink-like blotches or no image at all, the LCD is the part to change.
This panel is the LCD only. Your existing front glass is lifted off and refitted over the new panel. The iPad 3 and iPad 4 look similar but use a higher-resolution Retina LCD, so this panel is not interchangeable with theirs.

Is this the right part?
Signs it needs replacing

How to check your model
Turn the iPad over and read the small print on the back. It should show A1395, A1396 or A1397. You can also check in Settings › General › About.
The iPad 2 has a 9.7-inch screen and a 30-pin dock connector. It is thinner than the iPad 3 and iPad 4.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the iPad off and warm the edges of the front glass.
- Lift the glass carefully, keeping its flex cable connected or safely aside.
- Unscrew the old LCD and disconnect its cable.
- Connect the new LCD and test the picture with the glass resting in place.
- Screw the new LCD down and clean the frame of old adhesive.
- Refit the glass with new adhesive and run a final check.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.

Will this fit my iPad 2?
Yes, if the back of your iPad shows A1395, A1396 or A1397.
Does it fit the iPad 3 or iPad 4?
No. The iPad 3 and iPad 4 use a higher-resolution Retina LCD. We list that panel separately.
The glass is fine but the picture is black. Is this the right part?
Usually yes, if the iPad still makes sounds and touch responds. It can also be a loose cable, so a technician should check the connection first.
