Overview
What this part is
On the iPad 7th generation the touch glass is a separate part above the LCD. If the glass is cracked or touch no longer works, but the picture is clear, you can replace the glass on its own.
Separating the broken glass from the frame takes patience and controlled heat so the LCD is not harmed. Choose black or white to match your iPad. Touch ID is paired to your iPad's own home button, so that button should be moved to the new glass.

Before you order
Is this the right part?
Signs it needs replacing
- The glass is cracked but you can see the picture clearly
- A corner or strip of the screen ignores touch
- The iPad taps or types by itself
- Sharp edges or chips on the glass
How to check your model
Open Settings › General › About and tap Model Number until it shows an A-number. It should read A2197, A2198 or A2200. The A-number is also on the back.
The iPad 7th Gen has a 10.2-inch screen and a round home button. Match the glass colour to the bezel colour on the front.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the iPad off and warm the edges of the cracked glass.
- Lift the glass in stages, keeping pressure off the LCD.
- Disconnect the battery, then the old glass cable.
- Move your home button across to the new glass to keep Touch ID.
- Connect the new glass and test touch and the home button before sealing.
- Apply new adhesive, press evenly and run a final check.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Will this fit my iPad 7th Gen?
Yes, if the A-number is A2197, A2198 or A2200.
Does it fit the iPad Air 3 10.5-inch?
No. The Air 3 has a bonded screen and a different size.
Which colour should I choose?
Pick the colour of the border around your screen. Black and white are both available.
Is it made by Apple?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality touch digitiser glass made to fit the iPad 7th Gen, and it is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. The cracked glass is glued in and the LCD underneath is easy to damage.
How quickly will it arrive?
Orders placed before 4pm on a working day are dispatched the same day from Manchester by Royal Mail Tracked. Delivery is free on UK orders from £5.
