What this part is
Unlike the older minis, the iPad mini 5 has its glass, touch layer and LCD laminated together. A crack in the glass or a touch fault is therefore fixed by fitting a complete new screen assembly.
This part comes bonded as one unit in black or white. The mini 5 home button has Touch ID and is tied to the iPad, so it has to be moved across from the old screen with care. True Tone and brightness may differ slightly from the screen the iPad came with.

How to check your model
Open Settings › General › About and look at Model Name. Tap Model Number to see the A number, which is also printed in small text on the back of the iPad. It should read iPad mini (5th generation). This listing covers A2124 and A2126.
The iPad mini 4 looks almost the same but does not support Apple Pencil. The iPad mini 6 has no home button.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power off and heat the edges of the display.
- Open the screen with picks, keeping clear of the home button cable.
- Disconnect the battery, then the display connectors.
- Move your home button to the new assembly and connect it.
- Test the picture, touch and Touch ID before sealing.
- Fit new adhesive and press the screen down evenly.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
