Overview
What this part is
On the iPad mini 1 and mini 2 the front glass and the LCD are separate parts. If only the glass is cracked and the picture underneath still looks fine, you can replace just this digitiser and keep your existing LCD.
This version comes with the IC assembly already in place, which saves a fiddly step. You will still need to remove the cracked glass, clean the frame and move the home button across. The mini 3 uses a different digitiser because of its Touch ID home button.

Open Settings › General › About and look at Model Name. Tap Model Number to see the A number, which is also printed in small text on the back of the iPad. It should read iPad mini or iPad mini 2.

Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the iPad off and heat the edges of the cracked glass.
- Lift the glass away in pieces and set the LCD aside safely.
- Clean the old adhesive from the frame and fit new adhesive strips.
- Move the home button and bracket onto the new digitiser.
- Connect the digitiser and LCD, then test touch before sealing.
- Press the new glass down evenly and check there is no dust under it.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Will this fit my iPad mini?
Yes, if Settings › General › About shows iPad mini or iPad mini 2. It is listed for A1432, A1454, A1489 and A1490.
Does it fit the iPad mini 3?
No. The iPad mini 3 needs a different digitiser because of its Touch ID home button. We sell a separate mini 3 digitiser.
Is the LCD included?
No. This is the touch glass with IC assembly only. Keep your existing LCD unless the picture itself is damaged.
Is it made by Apple?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality digitiser made to fit the iPad mini 1 and mini 2, and it is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. Removing broken glass and fitting the new panel without dust or bubbles takes practice.
How quickly will it arrive?
Orders placed before 4pm on a working day are dispatched the same day from Manchester by Royal Mail Tracked. Delivery is free on UK orders from £5.
