At the top of the iPhone 11, behind the screen, the earpiece speaker sits together with a thin flex cable that carries the top microphone and sensors. Drops or moisture can damage the speaker or the flex, leaving calls quiet or silent.
This part supplies the speaker and flex as one assembly, so both are renewed at once. The sensors on this flex work with Face ID, and the Face ID parts nearby are paired to the phone. Ask your repairer about moving your existing sensor across if you need to keep Face ID.

- Clean the earpiece grille with a soft brush first, as dirt can muffle it.
- Power off, remove the pentalobe screws and warm the screen edges.
- Open the display and disconnect the battery.
- Remove the display and lift out the old earpiece and flex.
- Fit the new assembly, keeping clear of the Face ID parts nearby.
- Test call audio, the top microphone, Face ID and auto-brightness.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
