What this part is
The Lightning port on the iPhone 11 Pro Max sits on a flex cable that runs along the bottom of the phone to the logic board. Years of plugging in, pocket lint and moisture wear out the contacts, so charging becomes slow, stops and starts, or needs the cable held at an angle.
This part replaces the whole charging port flex. The job starts from the front: the display is opened, the battery disconnected, and parts at the bottom of the phone are removed to reach the flex. Always clean the port with a non-metal pick and try a known-good cable first, as lint is a common cause.

How to check your model
Open Settings › General › About. The Model Name should read iPhone 11 Pro Max. Tap the Model Number to see the A-number (A2218, A2161, A2220).
The iPhone 11 Pro Max has a 6.5-inch screen and three rear cameras. The smaller 11 Pro has a 5.8-inch screen.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off, warm the screen edges and open the display.
- Disconnect the battery and the display cables.
- Remove the parts covering the bottom of the phone, such as the loudspeaker and vibration motor.
- Release the old port flex, peel it from its adhesive and remove it.
- Fit the new flex, reconnect it and refit the bottom parts.
- Reconnect the battery and test charging, data sync and the microphones before sealing.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
