Overview
What this part is
The Taptic Engine is the small motor that makes the iPhone 11 vibrate. It handles silent-mode alerts, keyboard clicks and the haptic tap when you press and hold icons. After a drop or liquid damage it can rattle, buzz loudly or stop working.
This part replaces the motor itself. Before ordering, check Settings › Sounds & Haptics and Settings › Accessibility › Touch › Vibration, because vibration can be switched off in software.

Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Check the vibration settings first, then power the phone off.
- Remove the bottom pentalobe screws, warm the screen edges and open the display.
- Disconnect the battery before touching the motor.
- Unscrew the Taptic Engine and its connector, then lift it out.
- Fit the new motor, reconnect the battery and test vibration in silent mode.
- Apply new screen adhesive and close the phone.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Will this fit my iPhone 11?
Yes, if Settings › General › About shows iPhone 11. It fits models A2221, A2111 and A2223.
Does it fit the iPhone 11 Pro or iPhone XR?
No. The iPhone 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max and XR use different Taptic Engines. This one is for the iPhone 11 only.
Could my vibration be switched off instead of broken?
Yes. Check Settings › Sounds & Haptics and Settings › Accessibility › Touch › Vibration. If vibration is on and still does not work, the motor is the likely fault.
Is it made by Apple?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality vibrating motor made to fit the iPhone 11, and every part is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. The iPhone 11 is opened from the screen side, which needs heat and new adhesive, and the battery must be disconnected first.
How quickly will it arrive?
Orders placed before 4pm on a working day are dispatched the same day from Manchester by Royal Mail Tracked. Delivery is free on UK orders from £5. Returns are accepted within 30 days of receipt.
