What this part is
The iPhone 12 has a small glass cover over its two rear cameras. When that glass cracks or is badly scratched, light scatters and photos look soft, hazy or streaked, even though the cameras still work.
This part replaces only the glass cover. A new lens gives clear photos again and closes the gap that lets dust and moisture in. If the camera app shows a black screen or will not focus at all, the fault is in the camera module, not the glass.

How to check your model
Open Settings › General › About. The Model Name should read iPhone 12. Tap the Model Number to show the A-number, which should be one of A2403, A2172, A2402 or A2404.
The iPhone 12 has a 6.1-inch OLED screen and two rear cameras. The iPhone 12 Pro is the same size but has three rear cameras and a LiDAR sensor.

How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off and warm the camera area gently to soften the adhesive.
- Remove the broken glass piece by piece, taking care not to scratch the lenses below.
- Clean away old adhesive and glass dust from the camera ring.
- Check the camera lenses underneath are clean and undamaged.
- Place the new lens glass with fresh adhesive and press it into place.
- Power on and take test photos with each rear camera.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
