The iPhone 12 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch OLED display bonded to its cover glass and touch layer as one unit. A cracked glass, green or black display, lines or dead touch areas all mean the whole assembly needs replacing.
This version uses a Soft OLED panel. Soft OLED is flexible, like the factory screen, so it gives deep blacks and colours closer to the screen the phone was sold with than hard OLED. iOS may show a parts notice in Settings › General › About after any screen replacement, and True Tone may need to be transferred by a technician.

How to check your model
Open Settings › General › About. The Model Name should read iPhone 12 Pro Max. Tap the Model Number to show the A-number, which should be one of A2411, A2342, A2410 or A2412.
The iPhone 12 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch OLED screen, three rear cameras and a LiDAR sensor. The iPhone 12 Pro is smaller, with a 6.1-inch screen.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off, remove the bottom pentalobe screws and warm the screen edges.
- Open the display carefully and disconnect the battery before anything else.
- Disconnect the screen cables and lift the old screen away. The earpiece and Face ID parts stay in the phone.
- Connect the new screen and test display, touch and brightness before sealing.
- Apply new adhesive, close the phone and press evenly while the adhesive cures.
- Run a final check: display, touch, calls, Face ID, cameras and charging.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
