What this part is
The SIM reader is the small socket inside the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro that touches the gold contacts on your SIM card. It is joined to the logic board by a thin flex cable. If a tray is forced in, or the phone gets wet, the contacts can bend or corrode and the phone stops reading the SIM.
This part replaces the reader socket and its flex cable. Before ordering, try another SIM card and check that the tray is not bent. If a different SIM works, the reader is fine. If no SIM works and the phone shows "No SIM", the reader is the likely fault.

How to check your model
Open Settings › General › About. The Model Name should read iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro. Tap the Model Number to show the A-number, which should be one of A2403, A2172, A2402, A2404, A2407, A2341, A2406 or A2408.
The iPhone 12 has a 6.1-inch OLED screen and two rear cameras. The iPhone 12 Pro is the same size but has three rear cameras and a LiDAR sensor.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Test with a second SIM card and a known good tray to confirm the fault.
- Power the phone off, remove the SIM tray and the bottom pentalobe screws.
- Warm the screen edges, open the display and disconnect the battery.
- Remove the parts covering the SIM reader and disconnect its flex cable from the logic board.
- Fit the new reader, connect the flex cable and refit the covering parts.
- Reconnect the battery, insert the SIM and check for signal before sealing the phone.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.

Will this fit my iPhone 12 or 12 Pro?
Yes. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro share this SIM reader. Check Settings › General › About shows iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro.
Does it fit the iPhone 12 Mini or 12 Pro Max?
No. The iPhone 12 Mini and 12 Pro Max use different SIM readers. We list those separately.
Does this include the SIM tray?
No. This is the reader socket and flex cable inside the phone. If only your tray is bent or lost, you need a SIM tray, not this part.
Is it made by Apple?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality SIM card reader with flex cable made to fit the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, and every part is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend a trained technician. The phone must be opened with heat, the battery disconnected, and the reader's flex cable connected to the logic board with care.
