Overview
What this part is
The earpiece speaker is the small speaker at the top of the iPhone 13 Pro Max that you hear during normal calls. It also works with the bottom loudspeaker to give stereo sound. If callers sound faint, crackly or silent until you switch to speakerphone, this speaker is the usual cause.
Before replacing it, clean the earpiece grille with a soft dry brush: dust and grime often block the sound. This part is the earpiece speaker only and sits behind the display, so the screen must be opened.

Open Settings › General › About. The Model Name should read iPhone 13 Pro Max. Tap Model Number to see the A-number (A2643, A2484, A2641, A2644, A2645).
The iPhone 13 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch screen and three rear cameras plus a LiDAR scanner. Check the model before you order, as the top parts differ between iPhone 13 models.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off and remove the two screws beside the charging port.
- Warm the screen edges, open the display carefully and disconnect the battery first.
- Disconnect and set the screen aside, then remove the bracket over the top parts.
- Remove the old earpiece speaker and fit the new one in exactly the same position.
- Reconnect the screen and battery and test calls, the sensor and the front camera.
- Apply new adhesive, close the phone and press the screen evenly into place.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Will this fit my iPhone 13 Pro Max?
Yes, if Settings › General › About shows iPhone 13 Pro Max. It is made for models A2643, A2484, A2641, A2644, A2645. It does not fit the iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Plus or any other model.
Does it fit the iPhone 13 Pro?
No. The iPhone 13 Pro has the same camera layout but a smaller 6.1-inch body, so its parts are a different size. This earpiece speaker is for the iPhone 13 Pro Max only.
Will it fix the bottom loudspeaker?
No. This is the earpiece speaker at the top of the phone. The loudspeaker at the bottom is a separate part.
Is it made by Apple?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality earpiece speaker made to fit the iPhone 13 Pro Max, and every part is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. The parts at the top of the iPhone 13 Pro Max sit close to the Face ID parts, which are easily damaged, and the screen must be lifted without breaking it.
How quickly will it arrive?
Orders placed before 4pm on a working day are dispatched the same day from Manchester by Royal Mail Tracked. Delivery is free on UK orders from £5. Returns are accepted within 30 days of receipt.
