Overview
What this part is
The Taptic Engine is the small motor that makes the iPhone 13 Pro vibrate. It gives the tap you feel when a call or message arrives, and the light feedback when you type or press and hold. After a drop or water damage it can buzz, rattle or stop working.
This part is the vibrating motor only. It sits inside the rear housing next to the battery, so the phone must be opened and the battery disconnected. Check that vibration is switched on in Settings › Sounds & Haptics before buying.

Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Check Settings › Sounds & Haptics to make sure vibration is switched on.
- Power off the iPhone 13 Pro, remove the two screws beside the charging port and warm the screen edges to soften the adhesive.
- Open the phone and disconnect the battery before anything else.
- Unplug the old vibrating motor, remove its screws and lift it out.
- Fit the new motor, refit the screws and reconnect it.
- Reconnect the battery, test vibration for calls and alerts, then seal the phone.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Will this fit my iPhone 13 Pro?
Yes, if Settings › General › About shows iPhone 13 Pro. It is listed for models A2483, A2636, A2638, A2639 and A2640.
Does it fit the iPhone 13 Pro Max?
We list this vibrating motor for the iPhone 13 Pro only. The iPhone 13 Pro Max is a different model, so please choose the part listed for it.
My phone does not vibrate. Is it always the motor?
Not always. First check Settings › Sounds & Haptics and make sure vibration is switched on, including in silent mode. If vibration is on and still fails or rattles, the motor is the likely cause.
Is it made by Apple?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality vibrating motor made to fit the iPhone 13 Pro, and it is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. The motor sits next to the battery in the iPhone 13 Pro, so the battery must be disconnected safely before work starts.
How quickly will it arrive?
Orders placed before 4pm on a working day are dispatched the same day from Manchester by Royal Mail Tracked. Delivery is free on UK orders from £5.
