What this part is
The SIM card reader is the socket inside the iPhone 14 Pro Max that the SIM tray slides into. Its small spring contacts touch the SIM card. If a tray is forced in the wrong way, or the phone gets wet, the contacts can bend or corrode and the phone stops reading the SIM.
First try another SIM and check the tray is not bent. If the fault stays, this socket replaces the reader. It is fitted to the logic board, which needs soldering or connector work. US models (A2651) have no SIM tray and use eSIM only, so this part does not apply to them.

How to check your model
Open Settings › General › About. The Model Name should read iPhone 14 Pro Max. Tap the Model Number to see the A-number (A2893, A2894, A2895, A2896).
The iPhone 14 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch screen, a Dynamic Island cut-out at the top of the screen and three rear cameras. UK models (A2894) have a physical SIM tray on the left side.

How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off and remove the SIM tray.
- Open the phone and disconnect the battery before anything else.
- Remove the logic board carefully and protect nearby parts from heat.
- Remove the old SIM reader and clean the pads on the board.
- Fit the new SIM reader, check alignment, then reassemble the phone.
- Insert a SIM and test signal, calls and mobile data before sealing.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.

Will this fit my iPhone 14 Pro Max?
Yes, if Settings › General › About shows iPhone 14 Pro Max and your phone has a physical SIM tray. It fits models A2893, A2894, A2895 and A2896. US models (A2651) are eSIM only and have no SIM reader.
Does it fit the iPhone 14 Plus?
No. The iPhone 14 Plus is the same size but has a notch and two rear cameras. Those phones use different internal parts, so this part is for the iPhone 14 Pro Max only.
Does my iPhone 14 Pro Max have a SIM tray?
UK models do. US models (A2651) are eSIM only and have no SIM tray, so this part is not needed for them.
