Overview
What this part is
The Taptic Engine is the small linear motor that makes the iPhone 14 Pro Max vibrate. It gives the tap you feel for calls and notifications and the light clicks when you use the keyboard or press and hold icons.
If vibration is weak, buzzes loudly or has stopped, first check Settings › Sounds & Haptics and turn on System Haptics and vibration. If the settings are on and nothing happens, the motor has usually failed and this part replaces it.

Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off, remove the two bottom screws and warm the screen edges to soften the adhesive.
- Open the phone and disconnect the battery first.
- Remove the screws and the flex connector holding the Taptic Engine.
- Lift out the old motor and fit the new one in the same position.
- Reconnect the battery and test vibration for calls, alerts and keyboard feedback.
- Apply new adhesive, close the phone and run a final check of display, speaker and charging.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Will this fit my iPhone 14 Pro Max?
Yes, if Settings › General › About shows iPhone 14 Pro Max. It fits models A2651, A2893, A2894, A2895 and A2896.
Does it fit the iPhone 14 Plus?
No. The iPhone 14 Plus is the same size but has a notch and two rear cameras. Those phones use different internal parts, so this part is for the iPhone 14 Pro Max only.
My phone does not vibrate. Is it always the motor?
Not always. Check Settings › Sounds & Haptics first. If System Haptics and vibration are switched on and nothing happens, the Taptic Engine has usually failed.
Is it made by Apple?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality Taptic Engine made to fit the iPhone 14 Pro Max, and every part is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. The iPhone 14 Pro Max must be opened, the battery disconnected, and the phone resealed with new adhesive.
How quickly will it arrive?
Orders placed before 4pm on a working day are dispatched the same day from Manchester by Royal Mail Tracked. Delivery is free on UK orders from £5. Returns are accepted within 30 days from receipt.
