Overview
What this part is
The proximity sensor tells the iPhone 14 Pro when the phone is at your ear. It turns the screen off during calls so your cheek does not press buttons, then turns it back on when you move the phone away.
When the sensor fails, the screen stays on in calls and you may mute or hang up by accident, or the screen goes black and will not wake. This flex cable replaces the sensor. It sits under the display near the Face ID parts, so we cannot promise Face ID after the repair.

How to check your model
Open Settings › General › About. The Model Name should read iPhone 14 Pro. Tap the Model Number to see the A-number (A2650, A2889, A2890, A2891, A2892).
The iPhone 14 Pro has a 6.1-inch screen, a Dynamic Island cut-out at the top of the screen and three rear cameras. The iPhone 14 has the same screen size but a notch and only two rear cameras.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off, remove the two bottom screws and warm the screen edges to soften the adhesive.
- Open the display and disconnect the battery before anything else.
- Remove the top bracket and carefully free the old sensor flex.
- Fit the new sensor flex in exactly the same position so the sensor lines up with its window.
- Reconnect the battery and test a call: the screen should turn off at your ear.
- Apply new adhesive, close the phone and check Face ID, calls and the front camera.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Will this fit my iPhone 14 Pro?
Yes, if Settings › General › About shows iPhone 14 Pro. It fits models A2650, A2889, A2890, A2891 and A2892.
Does it fit the iPhone 14?
No. The iPhone 14 has the same screen size but a notch and only two rear cameras. Those phones use different internal parts, so this part is for the iPhone 14 Pro only.
Will this fix quiet call audio?
No. This is the proximity sensor flex only. If callers are quiet, you need the earpiece speaker.
Is it made by Apple?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality proximity sensor flex cable made to fit the iPhone 14 Pro, and every part is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. The sensor sits under the iPhone 14 Pro display next to Face ID parts, and it must be lined up exactly.
How quickly will it arrive?
Orders placed before 4pm on a working day are dispatched the same day from Manchester by Royal Mail Tracked. Delivery is free on UK orders from £5. Returns are accepted within 30 days from receipt.
