Overview
What this part is
The Taptic Engine is the small linear motor that makes the iPhone 14 vibrate. It gives the tap you feel for calls, notifications, the keyboard and system haptics. When it fails, vibration becomes weak, sounds rattly, or stops altogether.
This part replaces the motor only. It is mounted in the lower part of the phone near the battery, so the battery must be disconnected first. If vibration is off in Settings › Sounds & Haptics, check that setting before replacing the part.

Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the iPhone 14 off and open the phone, taking care with the display or back glass cables.
- Disconnect the battery before touching any other connector.
- Remove the screws and bracket covering the Taptic Engine, then lift the old part out.
- Fit the new Taptic Engine and refit every screw and bracket in the right place.
- Reconnect the battery and test the repair before sealing the phone.
- Close the phone with new adhesive and press evenly while it cures.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Will this fit my iPhone 14?
Yes, if Settings › General › About shows iPhone 14. It fits models A2649, A2881, A2882, A2883 and A2884.
Does it fit the iPhone 14 Pro?
No. The iPhone 14 Pro uses a different internal layout. This motor is for the iPhone 14 only.
My phone has stopped vibrating. Is it the motor?
Check Settings › Sounds & Haptics first and make sure haptics are switched on. If they are on and nothing is felt, or it rattles, the motor is the usual cause.
Is it made by Apple?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality vibration motor made to fit the iPhone 14, and every part is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. The iPhone 14 must be opened and the battery disconnected before the motor is removed.
