What this part is
The earpiece speaker sits at the top of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, behind the small grille above the screen. It plays call audio when the phone is held to your ear. Dust, moisture or a drop can make it sound quiet, rattly or stop working, while speakerphone still works.
This part is the earpiece speaker on its own. First try cleaning the grille gently with a soft brush, as blocked mesh often causes quiet calls. If calls are still quiet and the screen also stays on at your ear, you may need the combined earpiece and sensor flex instead.

How to check your model
Open Settings › General › About. The Model Name should read iPhone 15 Pro Max. Tap Model Number to see the A-number; it should be one of A2849, A3105, A3106 and A3108.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch screen, a titanium frame, the Action button and three rear cameras, including a 5x telephoto. The iPhone 15 Pro is smaller at 6.1 inches, and the iPhone 15 Plus has only two rear cameras.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off and open it following a repair guide for your model.
- Disconnect the battery before anything else.
- Remove the bracket that holds the earpiece speaker in place.
- Lift out the old earpiece, taking care of the nearby flex cables and camera.
- Fit the new earpiece and refit the bracket and screws.
- Reconnect the battery and test call audio at several volume levels before closing.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
