What this part is
The front camera on the iPhone 15 Pro Max sits in the Dynamic Island at the top of the screen. It is used for selfies, FaceTime and video calls. A drop or moisture can leave it blurry, dark, or showing a black screen when you switch to the front camera.
This part is the front camera module with its flex cable. It does not include the Face ID parts that sit next to it. If selfies are blurry only because the screen glass over the camera is cracked, a screen replacement is needed instead. iOS may show a notice in Settings › General › About that a part is unknown. This is normal for a non-Apple part and does not stop the part working.

How to check your model
Open Settings › General › About. The Model Name should read iPhone 15 Pro Max. Tap Model Number to see the A-number; it should be one of A2849, A3105, A3106 and A3108.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch screen, a titanium frame, the Action button and three rear cameras, including a 5x telephoto. The iPhone 15 Pro is smaller at 6.1 inches, and the iPhone 15 Plus has only two rear cameras.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off and open it following a repair guide for your model.
- Disconnect the battery before anything else.
- Remove the bracket over the top sensors and camera.
- Disconnect and lift out the old front camera, keeping the Face ID parts untouched.
- Fit the new camera, connect its flex and refit the bracket.
- Reconnect the battery and test photos, video and FaceTime before closing.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
