The iPhone 16 charges through a USB-C port at the bottom of the phone. The port is built into a flex cable that runs to the logic board. Open Settings › General › About. The Model Name should read iPhone 16. Tap Model Number to see the A-number; it should be one of A3081, A3286, A3287 and A3288.
The iPhone 16 has a 6.1-inch screen, the Camera Control button and two rear cameras in a vertical, pill-shaped layout. The iPhone 16 Plus is larger at 6.7 inches, and the iPhone 16 Pro has three rear cameras.

- Remove the brackets, screws and parts that cover the charging port flex.
- Unfasten and lift out the old flex cable, noting how it is routed.
- Fit the new flex cable in the same route and refit brackets and screws.
- Reconnect the battery and test charging, data sync and the microphones before closing.
