What this part is
At the top of the iPhone 16e, behind the screen, the earpiece speaker and the proximity sensor sit on one assembly. The earpiece plays the other caller's voice. The proximity sensor turns the screen off during calls so your cheek does not press buttons.
This part replaces both together. It suits phones where call audio is faint, crackly or silent, or where the screen stays on and your cheek taps the screen during calls. Clean the earpiece grille first, as dust can make audio quiet. The loudspeaker at the bottom is a separate part, and Face ID and the front camera are not part of this assembly.

How to check your model
Open Settings › General › About. The Model Name should read iPhone 16e. Tap the Model Number once to see the A-number (A3212, A3408, A3409, A3410).
The iPhone 16e has a 6.1-inch screen with a notch (no Dynamic Island) and a single rear camera. The iPhone 16 has a Dynamic Island and two rear cameras.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the iPhone 16e off, warm the screen edges and open the display.
- Disconnect the battery before anything else.
- Remove the screen and the bracket over the earpiece at the top.
- Swap the old earpiece and sensor flex for the new one.
- Refit the bracket, reconnect everything and test calls and the proximity sensor.
- Close the phone with new adhesive and run a final check.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
