Overview
What this part is
Every recent iPhone uses a Taptic Engine for vibration and haptic feedback: the buzz for calls and alerts, and the light taps when you type or long-press. If it fails, vibration becomes weak, rattles or stops.
This listing covers eight models. Pick the option that matches the Model Name in Settings › General › About. The iPhone 16e is not included; it has its own listing. Before ordering, check that vibration is switched on in Settings › Sounds & Haptics and Settings › Accessibility › Touch.

Before you order
Is this the right part?
Signs it needs replacing
- No vibration for calls, messages or alarms
- A rattling or grinding noise when the phone vibrates
- Haptic taps have stopped when typing or long-pressing
- Vibration feels far weaker than it used to
How to check your model
Open Settings › General › About and read the Model Name. Choose the option with exactly that name, for example iPhone 16 Pro rather than iPhone 16 Pro Max.
The iPhone Air is the very thin model with one rear camera. The Pro and Pro Max models have three rear cameras; the iPhone 17, 16 and 16 Plus have two.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Check the vibration settings first, then power the phone off.
- Open the phone with gentle heat and disconnect the battery.
- Remove the screws and bracket over the Taptic Engine and unplug it.
- Fit the new motor for your model and refit its screws.
- Reconnect the battery and test vibration for calls, alerts and the keyboard.
- Close the phone with new adhesive and run a final check.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.

Which option should I choose?
Choose the option that matches the Model Name in Settings › General › About exactly, for example iPhone 16 Pro rather than iPhone 16 Pro Max, so you receive the motor listed for your phone.
