The earpiece speaker sits at the top of the iPhone 17 Pro, behind the display. When it fails, calls at your ear become quiet, crackly or silent, while speakerphone still sounds normal.
This is the earpiece speaker on its own, ready to fit. The display must be opened to reach it. Before buying, gently clean the earpiece grille with a soft, dry brush, as a blocked grille is a common cause of quiet calls.

How to check your model
Open Settings › General › About. The Model Name should read iPhone 17 Pro. We do not list model numbers for this model, so check the Model Name carefully.
The iPhone 17 Pro has a 6.3-inch screen, three rear cameras and a USB-C port. The iPhone 17 Pro Max looks the same but is larger, with a 6.9-inch screen.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the iPhone 17 Pro off and warm the screen edges to soften the adhesive.
- Open the display carefully with a suction cup and thin pick.
- Disconnect the battery before touching any other connector.
- Remove the bracket over the earpiece and lift the old speaker out.
- Fit the new earpiece, refit the bracket and put each screw back in its own hole.
- Reconnect the display, test call audio, then seal the screen with new adhesive.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
