The iPhone 17 Pro Max loudspeaker sits at the base of the phone beside the USB-C port. It handles ringtones, notifications, speakerphone, music and video. Water, grit or a hard drop can leave it weak, buzzing or silent.
This is the loudspeaker module only. First brush the bottom grille with a soft, dry brush and check the sound settings. If sound is still poor, the module is worn or damaged and should be replaced.

How to check your model

- Remove the screws and brackets over the loudspeaker at the base of the phone.
- Lift the old loudspeaker out and seat the new module in its place.
- Refit the brackets, reconnect the battery and test ringtones and speakerphone.
- Close the phone with fresh adhesive and check sound, calls and charging.
