What this part is
The iPhone 12 Pro Max has three rear cameras. A drop can damage the focus or stabilisation parts inside the camera, which leaves photos blurred, shaking or buzzing, or the camera app opening to a black screen.
This part replaces the rear camera module with its flex cable. If the camera works but photos look hazy, the lens glass may be all that is broken, which is a much cheaper part. iOS may show a parts notice in Settings › General › About after the camera is replaced.

How to check your model
Open Settings › General › About. The Model Name should read iPhone 12 Pro Max. Tap the Model Number to show the A-number, which should be one of A2411, A2342, A2410 or A2412.
The iPhone 12 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch OLED screen, three rear cameras and a LiDAR sensor. The iPhone 12 Pro is smaller, with a 6.1-inch screen.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off, remove the bottom pentalobe screws and warm the screen edges.
- Open the display and disconnect the battery before anything else.
- Remove the bracket over the camera connectors and disconnect the old camera.
- Lift out the old camera and seat the new one, keeping the lenses free of dust.
- Reconnect everything and test every rear lens, focus and video before sealing.
- Apply new screen adhesive, close the phone and press evenly around the edges.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.

Does it fit the iPhone 12 Pro?
No. The iPhone 12 Pro Max uses a different rear camera from the iPhone 12 Pro. It also does not fit the iPhone 12 or 12 Mini.
My photos are hazy but the camera focuses. Do I need this?
Probably not. Hazy or streaked photos from a camera that still focuses are usually caused by cracked lens glass, which is a separate, cheaper part.
