What this part is
The iPhone X earpiece is the small speaker at the top of the screen that you hear during calls. Dust in the grille, moisture or wear can make it quiet or crackly, while speakerphone sounds fine.
This is the earpiece speaker on its own. On the iPhone X it is fitted to the back of the display, so the screen must be opened and the speaker moved with care. Brush the grille gently before ordering, as a blocked grille is a common cause of quiet calls.

How to check your model
Open Settings › General › About. The Model Name should read iPhone X. Tap the Model Number once to see the A-number (A1865, A1901, A1902).
The iPhone X has a 5.8-inch OLED screen, Face ID, two rear cameras and a Lightning port. It looks very like the iPhone XS, so check the Model Name before ordering.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the iPhone X off, remove the two bottom screws and warm the screen edges.
- Open the display and disconnect the battery before anything else.
- Remove the screen, then take off the bracket over the earpiece on its back.
- Swap in the new earpiece, keeping the sensor flex beside it undamaged.
- Refit the bracket, reconnect the screen and battery and make a test call.
- Seal the phone and check calls, Face ID and auto-dimming.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
