How to check your model
Open Settings › General › About and check the model name reads iPhone XS. Tap the model number to see the A-number. It should be one of A1920, A2097, A2098, A2099, A2100.
The iPhone XS has a 5.8-inch OLED screen and two rear cameras. The iPhone XS Max is larger, with a 6.5-inch screen.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off and remove the pentalobe screws next to the port.
- Warm the screen edges, open the iPhone XS from the display side and disconnect the battery.
- Remove the logic board, loudspeaker and Taptic Engine to reach the charging port flex.
- Carefully peel the old flex from the frame and fit the new one in the same position.
- Refit the parts, reconnect the battery and test charging and data sync.
- Apply new display adhesive and close the phone.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
