Overview
What this part is
At the top of the iPhone XS Max display sits an earpiece speaker joined to a thin flex cable that carries the proximity and ambient light sensors. If calls are quiet, or the screen stays on and your cheek presses buttons during calls, this assembly is usually at fault.
The flex on this model also connects to parts of the TrueDepth camera system. Face ID parts are paired to each phone, so Face ID may not work after the flex is replaced. Ask your technician about this before fitting if Face ID matters to you.

How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off and remove the pentalobe screws next to the port.
- Warm the screen edges, open the iPhone XS Max and disconnect the battery.
- Disconnect and remove the display, then take off the earpiece bracket.
- Carefully move the new speaker and sensor flex into place, keeping the sensor windows clean.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Will this fit my iPhone XS Max?
Yes, if Settings › General › About shows iPhone XS Max. It fits models A1921, A2101, A2102, A2103, A2104.
Does it fit the iPhone XS?
No. Only buy this for the iPhone XS Max. Check the model name in Settings before ordering.
Will Face ID still work?
It may not. On this model the sensor flex is linked to the Face ID system, which is paired to the phone. A technician can advise whether a transfer is possible.
Is it made by Apple?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality earpiece and sensor flex assembly made to fit the iPhone XS Max, and every part is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. The flex is thin and easy to tear, and the display must be removed and resealed.
How quickly will it arrive?
Orders placed before 4pm on a working day are dispatched the same day from Manchester by Royal Mail Tracked. Delivery is free on UK orders from £5.
