What this part is
The first Galaxy A5 has a 5-inch screen and a metal body. Its glass, touch layer and display are bonded together, so a crack or a dead, striped or black picture means the whole assembly needs replacing.
This TFT LCD version is a lower-cost alternative to an AMOLED screen. Display and touch work fully, but the picture is less bright and vivid, and the panel is thicker. Choose gold or white to match the front of your phone.

Is this the right part?

How to check your model
Open Settings › About phone. The model name should read Galaxy A5. The model number should start SM-A500, for example SM-A500F or SM-A500FU.
The 2016 Galaxy A5 is SM-A510 and the 2017 model is SM-A520. Those phones use different screens.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off, remove the SIM tray and open the phone following a repair guide for your model.
- Disconnect the battery before unplugging the screen connector.
- Warm the screen edges and lift the old display away from the frame, feeding its flex cable through.
- Clean off all old adhesive and apply a new adhesive sheet to the frame.
- Feed the new screen flex through, connect it and test display and touch before pressing it into place.
- Close the phone and run a final check: display, touch, calls, speakers, cameras and charging.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.

Will this fit my Galaxy A5 (2015)?
Yes, if Settings › About phone shows a model number starting SM-A500, such as SM-A500F, SM-A500FU, SM-A500M, SM-A500Y or SM-A500YZ. It does not fit the 2016 or 2017 Galaxy A5.
Does it fit the Galaxy A5 (2017)?
No. The 2017 Galaxy A5 (SM-A520) has a larger 5.2-inch screen. This assembly is for the 2015 model (SM-A500) only.
Is a TFT screen as good as the factory screen?
It is a budget option. Display and touch work fully, but a TFT LCD is less bright and vivid than the Super AMOLED screen the phone was sold with, and colours fade more when seen from an angle.
Is it made by Samsung?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality TFT LCD assembly made to fit the Galaxy A5 (2015), and every part is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. The A5 (2015) screen is glued into a metal body, so it needs heat, careful prying and new adhesive, and the battery must be disconnected safely.
