What this part is
The Galaxy A40 is a compact 5.9-inch phone. Its glass, touch layer and display are bonded into one unit, so a crack, dead touch or a black or striped picture means the whole screen assembly needs replacing.
This LCD version comes fitted to a new mid-frame. The technician moves the battery, boards and small parts across, so the old screen never has to be prised off, and the frame edges look fresh again. The A40 fingerprint sensor is on the back of the phone, so it is not affected by the screen. Colours and brightness may look slightly different from the factory AMOLED screen.

How to check your model
Open Settings › About phone. The model name should read Galaxy A40. The model number should start SM-A405, such as SM-A405FN.

Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off, remove the SIM tray and warm the back cover to lift it off.
- Remove the screws and covers, then disconnect the battery before anything else.
- Move the battery, main board, charging port board, cameras and small parts into the new frame.
- Connect the new screen and test display, touch and brightness before closing.
- Refit the covers, screws and back cover with fresh adhesive, and press evenly.
- Run a final check: display, touch, calls, speakers, cameras, fingerprint and charging.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.

Will this fit my Galaxy A40?
Yes, if Settings › About phone shows Galaxy A40 with a model number starting SM-A405. It does not fit the Galaxy A41 or Galaxy A50.
Does it fit the Galaxy A41?
No. The Galaxy A41 is a different phone with a 6.1-inch screen and an in-display fingerprint sensor. This assembly is for the Galaxy A40 only.
Will my fingerprint sensor still work?
Yes, the fingerprint sensor on the Galaxy A40 is on the back of the phone, not under the screen, so it is not affected by this LCD screen.
Is it made by Samsung?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality LCD assembly made to fit the Galaxy A40, and every part is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. Replacing the Galaxy A40 screen needs heat, the right tools and new adhesive, and the battery must be disconnected safely.
