What this part is
The earpiece on the LG G6 is the speaker you hold to your ear on calls. Dust in the grille, liquid or a drop can make it quiet, crackly or silent, while speakerphone still works.
This is the earpiece speaker unit itself. Before replacing it, try cleaning the earpiece grille gently with a soft brush and check the call volume, as a blocked mesh can cause the same symptoms.

How to check your model
Open Settings › About phone (on some versions Settings › General › About phone). The model number should read H870, H871, H872, H873, LS993, VS998 or US997.
The G6 has a 5.7-inch screen and a glass back with a rear fingerprint sensor.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the LG G6 off and remove the SIM tray.
- Warm the back cover edges gently and lift it off with a plastic opening tool and suction cup.
- Remove the screws holding the inner cover, then disconnect the battery connector before touching any other part.
- Remove the upper inner cover to reach the earpiece.
- Lift the old earpiece out and fit the new one in the same position, making sure its contacts line up.
- Refit the covers, reconnect the battery and test call sound before closing the back.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
