What this part is
The Motorola Moto E3 power and volume buttons press on small switches mounted on a thin flex cable inside the side of the frame. Drops, pressure and liquid can crack the flex or wear the switches, and the buttons stop responding.
This flex carries both the power switch and the volume switches, so one part restores all the side buttons. It does not include the outer plastic or metal button caps. If the buttons still fail with a new flex, the main board connector may be damaged.

How to check your model
Open Settings › About phone and check the model name reads Moto E3, not Moto E4. The model number (XT1700 or XT1706) is shown under Settings › About phone › Regulatory information and on the box. Compare your old part with the photos before fitting.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the Moto E3 off and remove the SIM tray.
- Open the back cover with a plastic opening tool, using gentle heat if it is glued.
- Remove the inner cover screws and disconnect the battery.
- Unplug and lift out the old button flex from the side of the frame.
- Place the new flex so the switches line up with the button caps, then connect it.
- Reassemble, reconnect the battery and test power, volume up and volume down.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.

Will this fit my Moto E3?
Yes, if Settings › About phone shows Moto E3 and the model number is XT1700 or XT1706. It does not fit the Moto E4, Moto E3 (1st gen, 2015) or Moto E5.
Does it fit the Moto E4?
No. The Moto E4 is a different phone and uses different parts. Check the model name in Settings › About phone before you order.
Does it include the button caps?
No. This is the flex cable with the switches only. Your existing outer power and volume buttons are reused.
Is it made by Motorola?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality button flex cable made to fit the Motorola Moto E3, and every part is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. The Moto E3 must be opened and the battery disconnected, and the flex has to be aligned exactly behind the buttons.
