What this part is
On the Motorola Moto G9 Play the charging port sits on a small sub-board at the bottom of the phone, joined to the main board by a flex cable. Daily plugging in, pocket lint and drops wear the port out, and the phone stops charging reliably.
The same board also fits the Moto G9 sold in India. This is the complete board with the port already fitted, so no soldering is needed. If the phone still does not charge with a new board and a known good cable, the battery or main board may be at fault.

How to check your model
Open Settings › About phone. The model name should read moto g9 play.
The Moto G9 Play has a 6.5-inch screen. The Moto G9 Power and G9 Plus are different phones with different boards.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the Motorola Moto G9 Play off and remove the SIM tray.
- Lift the back cover off with a plastic opening tool, working round the edge.
- Remove the screws holding the inner cover and lift it off.
- Disconnect the battery connector before touching any other part.
- Unplug the flex cable, remove the screws and lift out the old charging port board.
- Fit the new board, reconnect its flex cable and refit the screws and covers.
- Reconnect the battery, power on and test charging with a known good cable.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.

Will this fit my Motorola Moto G9 Play?
Yes, if Settings › About phone shows moto g9 play. It does not fit the Moto G9 Power or Moto G9 Plus.

Yes. The Moto G9 sold in India is the same design as the Moto G9 Play and uses this charging board.
Do I need to solder anything?
No. This is a complete board with the port already fitted. It connects with a flex cable and is held in place with screws.

Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. The Motorola Moto G9 Play has to be opened carefully, and the battery must be disconnected before the new board is connected.
