What this part is
The OnePlus 5 charging port is fitted to a flex cable rather than soldered to the main board, so a worn socket can be replaced without micro-soldering. Common signs are a cable that only charges at an angle, slow or stop-start charging, or a phone that a computer no longer sees.
It also carries the 3.5mm headphone jack, so it can fix audio faults from a worn or damaged jack as well as charging faults. Before replacing it, clean the port with a plastic pick and test another cable and charger, as fluff in the socket is a common cause.

How to check your model
Open Settings › About phone and check the model name reads OnePlus 5, not OnePlus 5T. The model number (A5000) is shown in the same menu and on the box. Compare your old part with the photos before fitting.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Clean the port and try another cable and charger to rule them out.
- Power the OnePlus 5 off, open the back and disconnect the battery.
- Remove the parts covering the bottom of the phone and unclip the old flex.
- Fit the new flex, pressing each connector home and seating any adhesive.
- Reconnect the battery and test charging and data before closing the phone.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
