What this part is
On the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G, the power key and the volume up and down keys press against small switches on a thin flex cable inside the side of the phone. Drops, pressure in a pocket and moisture can crack the flex or wear out a switch. The button may then feel flat, stop working, or turn the phone off or change the volume on its own.
The Galaxy A16 5G was launched in late 2024 with a 6.7-inch screen. Before ordering, remove any tight case and restart the phone, because a pressing case or software freeze can look like a button fault.

How to check your model

Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off. Warm the back cover gently and lift it off.
- Remove the screws and the plastic cover over the main board.
- Disconnect the battery before touching any other connector.
- Unclip the old side key flex and peel it away from the frame.
- Fit the new flex so each switch sits behind its button, then reconnect it.
- Reconnect the battery and test power, volume up and volume down before closing.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
