What this part is
The Samsung Galaxy A21s has its fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone. The sensor is joined to a thin flex cable that plugs into the main board. A cracked sensor surface, a torn flex or liquid damage can stop it reading fingers at all.
This part is the sensor with its flex cable, supplied in four colours so it matches the back cover. After fitting, delete your old fingerprints and register them again in Settings › Security. Your PIN, pattern or password still unlock the phone while you do this.

How to check your model
Open Settings › About phone. The model name should read Galaxy A21s and the model number should start SM-A217, not Galaxy A21. Samsung model numbers start SM-.
The Galaxy A21s (SM-A217F) is a different phone from the Galaxy A21. Check the name includes the "s".
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off and remove the SIM tray.
- Warm the back cover edges gently and lift the back cover off with a thin pick.
- Remove the screws and inner cover, then disconnect the battery before anything else.
- Unplug the old sensor flex and ease the sensor out of its housing.
- Fit the new sensor, reconnect its flex and the battery, then test it before closing.
- Refit the inner cover and screws, fit the back cover with new adhesive, then register your fingerprints again.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
