What this part is
On the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the fingerprint sensor sits on the back next to the cameras. This part is the sensor and its flex cable. A cracked sensor or damaged flex can stop fingerprints being read.
After fitting, delete your old fingerprints and register them again in Settings, then test the sensor before sealing the back cover. Your PIN, pattern or password still unlock the phone.

How to check your model
Open Settings › About phone. The name should read Galaxy Note 8 and the model number should start SM-N950. Compare your old part with the photos before fitting.
The Galaxy Note 8 has a curved 6.3-inch screen, two rear cameras side by side and the fingerprint sensor next to the cameras. The Note 9 has its fingerprint sensor below the cameras.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off and remove the SIM tray.
- Warm the back cover to soften the adhesive and lift it off carefully.
- Remove the screws and the upper inner panel, then disconnect the battery.
- Unplug the old fingerprint flex and remove the sensor.
- Fit the new sensor and flex, then reconnect the battery.
- Register a fingerprint to test it, then seal the back cover with new adhesive.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.

Frequently asked questions
Will this fit my Note 8?
Yes, if Settings › About phone shows Galaxy Note 8 (model SM-N950F or SM-N9500). It does not fit the Galaxy Note 9, Note FE, S8+.
Does it fit the Galaxy Note 9?
No. The Note 9 looks similar but has a different internal layout. This part is for the Galaxy Note 8 only.
Will I need to set up my fingerprints again?
Yes. Delete your saved fingerprints and register them again after fitting. Test the sensor before the back cover is sealed.
Is it made by Samsung?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality fingerprint sensor flex cable made to fit the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, and it is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. The Note 8 back cover is glued on and needs heat to remove, and the battery must be disconnected first.
