What this part is
The power and volume keys on the right side of the Galaxy S20 Ultra press against a thin flex cable inside the frame. If that flex is torn, corroded or worn, the buttons stop working even though the outer keys look fine.
This flex carries the switches for both the power (side) key and the volume keys. The phone has to be opened from the back to replace it. If the outer button caps are broken or missing, a new flex alone will not fix that.

How to check your model
Open Settings › About phone. The Model name should read Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G. The Model number should start SM-G988.
The Galaxy S20 Ultra has a 6.9-inch screen and a large rectangular camera block with four rear cameras.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G off and warm the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive.
- Lift the back cover carefully and disconnect the battery before anything else.
- Remove the screws and covers over the right side of the frame to reach the side key flex.
- Unclip the old flex from the button switches and fit the new flex in the same position.
- Reconnect the battery and test the side key and both volume keys before closing.
- Fit new back cover adhesive, close the phone and press evenly while it cures.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
